MY DOLL AND ME AMERICAN GIRL CAMP

Two sessions: May 22nd – 26th and July 31st – Aug 4th
9:00 am – Noon
Grades: K – 3rd
Instructor: Bethany Walker, Edgerton Explorit Center
Science comes in all shapes and sizes. Bring your American Girl Doll (or any 18 inch doll) for a week of make and take camp. Campers will engineer hands on crafts, clothes and more for their doll. Campers will also make some matching items for them and their doll to enjoy together. Bring your doll, your imagination and prepare to have fun!

SEUSS ON THE LOOSE RETURNS

June 5th – 9th

Dr. Seuss had so much fun at Explorit last summer he returns again with a whole new set of stories to share. Come hear some favorite Dr. Seuss books and discover how science is part of the fun. Campers will bring the stories to life through science experiments, arts and crafts, creative snacks and more.

SEARCH AND DISCOVER CAMP

June 26th – June 30th
1:00pm – 4:00pm
Grades: K – 3rd
Instructor: Bethany Walker, Edgerton Explorit Center
Keen observation is a key component of successful science. Campers will practice observation skills as they take fieldtrips to the park, library and more in search
of various items. Campers will experience a series of challenging and entertaining scavenger hunts including nature hunts, book hunts, an Explorit hunt and more.
There will be lots of amazing discoveries made as we search together.

CAMP INVENTION

July 10th – 14th
9:00am – 12:00pm
Grades: K – 3rd
Instructor: Bethany Walker, Edgerton Explorit Center
This camp is geared towards developing the camper’s creativity, innovation, and problem-solving skills by building and creating projects of all kinds. Our top priority is to inspire future innovators and build confidence in their natural ability to dream and create. Camp will end with an invention fair where campers will choose their favorite invention to set up and demonstrate. Judges will award prizes for best inventions. Invention fair is open to family and friends.

AG SCIENCE DISCOVERY CAMP Beginning Level

Grades: K – 2nd
May 22nd – 25th   1:00 pm – 4:00 pm
Instructor: Deb Miller and guest UNL instructors

The Ag Discovery camp beginning level gives our younger campers hands-on experiences in agriculture. Each day the campers will be learning something different from how wind, sun, fire and water all affect the plant cycle and how things grow.   One day we’ll cover photosynthesis and the next day we’ll be focusing on the soil.   Campers will get dirty while we explore soil, water, plants, insects, and the process of growing food.

COOL ROCKET SCIENCE Beginning Level

Grades: K – 2nd
May 30th– June 2nd  9:00am – 12:00pm
Instructor: Taylor Brandl and Edgerton Staff

3-2-1 Blast Off! In this fun-filled one-week course for beginning students, campers will explore the science of flight and related topics such as: gravity, lift, thrust, drag, air pressure and the Bernoulli effect.  Additionally, campers will learn to build their own model rocket, which they will have the opportunity to launch as well!

FANTASTIC FAIRYTALE FUN

July 24th – 28th
9:00am – 12:00pm
Grades: K – 3rd
Instructor: Bethany Walker, Edgerton Explorit Center
Camper’s favorite fairytales will come to life at this camp as they design a house that can’t be blown down, construct a bridge that keep three goat’s safe from the troll and build a chair that even Goldilocks can’t break! Campers will explore fairytales through science experiments, arts and crafts, creative snacks and more. Join us for a fun filled week of fantastic fairytales and be inspired to explore each challenging situation until you find a solution.

Scholarships available based on financial need. If your student qualifies for the Free and Reduced Lunch Program at their school, they may be eligible to attend a summer camp free of charge due to support from our corporate sponsors.
CANCELLATIONS/REFUNDS: Cancellations made 30 days in advance of the first day of the camp session are eligible for a full refund. Cancellations made 10 days before the first day of the camp session are eligible for a 50% credit voucher. Cancellations made less than 10 days before the start of the camp session will not be refunded. Students removed from a camp for disciplinary reasons are not eligible for a refund. The Edgerton Explorit Center reserves the right to vary its programs and to reschedule or cancel an event if it is undersubscribed or for any other reason. The Edgerton Explorit Center aims to give participants at least 1 weeks’ notice if an event is rescheduled or cancelled, and give a full refund for cancelled events.
