MY DOLL AND ME AMERICAN GIRL CAMP

Two sessions: May 22nd – 26th and July 31st – Aug 4th
Grades: 3rd – 6th  1:00pm – 4:00pm
Instructor: Bethany Walker, Edgerton Explorit Center
Science comes in all shapes and sizes. Bring your American Girl Doll (or any 18 inch doll) for a week of make and take camp. Campers will engineer hands on crafts, clothes and more for their doll. Campers will also make some matching items for them and their doll to enjoy together. Bring your doll, your imagination and prepare to have fun!

INTRO TO ROBOTICS

June 6th – June 9th

Build your own robot! Campers will engineer, build and program a robot. Learn how to make your robots do more than ever before. During this camp we will push your ingenuity to the limits. At the end of the week we will have a tournament to see who the best robot builder is.

CR MANUFACTURING AG SCIENCE DISCOVERY CAMP ADVANCED LEVEL

June 12th – June 16th,  9:00am – 12:00 pm
Grades: 3rd – 6th
Instructor: Deb Miller, Edgerton Explorit Center and guest instructors
The Ag Discovery camp advanced level camp gives our older campers hands-on experiences in agriculture. Each day the campers will delve into a different area of agricultural science including animal and crop science. Campers will enjoy fieldtrips to area farms, seed corn plants and more as they discover how food gets from the ground to their plate and the role technology plays in agriculture.

INTRO TO APP CREATION

June 12th – 16th

Grades: 3rd – 6th
Instructor: Adam Hahn and Edgerton Staff Members
Campers will use MIT app inventor to learn how to do computer coding in a simple and understandable way. This program is a great way for visual learners to learn how to code with drop and drag building blocks. The camp will teach campers how to build a basic, fully functional app in approximately one hour. By the end of the week more complex programs will be learned. Campers will need an Android device such as a phone or tablet for this camp.

OOEY GOOEY RICH AND CHEWY:
THE CHEMISTRY OF COOKING RETURNS

June 19th – 23rd

Grades: 3rd – 6th
Instructor: Jessica Brock, Edgerton Explorit Center and The Leadership Center Staff Edible Science returns from this popular camp offered last year! Make, and eat if you wish, your own creations from the kitchen. While we can’t say that all our recipes will live up to the title of this camp, we can guarantee you’ll have some fun and learn a little chemistry in the process. On Friday, family and friends are invited to The Leadership Center to sample their chef’s creations. Enrollment  limited to 10 campers so sign up fast!

CAMP INVENTION ADVANCED LEVEL CAMP

This camp is geared towards developing advanced camper’s creativity, innovation, and problem-solving skills by building and creating projects of all kinds. Our top priority is to inspire future innovators and build confidence in their natural ability to dream and create. Camp will end with an invention fair where campers will choose their favorite invention to set up and demonstrate. Judges will award prizes for best inventions. Invention fair is open to family and friends.

BEES, BATS, BIRDS & BOAS

Some creatures fly in the sky while other creatures slither on the ground. However they move these creatures are amazing. Campers will explore the world through the eyes of some of nature’s greatest B’s…bees, bats, birds and boas. They will even have some hands on encounters with these awesome creatures throughout the week.

COOL ROCKET SCIENCE Advanced Level

 3-2-1 Blast Off! This action packed week focuses solely on rockets and rocket flight. Learn about model rocket design, building, aerodynamics, propulsion, launching, safety, recovery, and repair. Take part in daily launches. Take home your own rockets and an abundance of model rocket knowledge. This Mad Science camp is a blast for boys and girls alike.

MEMORIAL HOSPITAL’S BODY BASICS!
FROM HEAD TO TOES AND EVERYTHING IN BETWEEN

The Edgerton Explorit Center is teaming up with Memorial Hospital to offer this camp loaded with opportunities for learning and fun while you study the science of anatomy. Campers will learn fun facts about hiccups, burps, farts, and everything in between. You will study DNA and what makes you your unique self. You will get the opportunity to tour Memorial Hospital and work with their staff while studying the skeletal and respiratory systems. You will end the week learning about what is on the inside by dissecting a frog and cow eyes.

EXPLORING SCIENCE WITH MINECRAFT

This camp is for kids who enjoy Minecraft and want to know more about it. We will walk through the basics of Minecraft, then use its tools to learn about surviving, civilizations, and science! Laptop required. If you do not have one available to use the Center has some that you can borrow. A second session will be added if the first one closes July 24th – 28th.

PINNACLE BANK’S ROUGHING IT – OUTDOOR ADVENTURE CAMP

Learn the basics of outdoor adventure and survival in this three day camp. Campers will get to practice kayaking, hiking, and basics of camping while learning skills that will last a lifetime. Camp will conclude with an overnight tent camping experience to put all your skills to the test. Overnight portion will run from July 25th at 1:00pm to 9:00am on July 26th.

CORNERSTONE BANK’S ADVENTURES IN 3D DESIGN CAMP

July 24th – July 28th

Design, Create, Print! This camp was developed for beginning campers to bring their ideas and creations to life with a real 3D-printed model. Students will use cutting edge 3D-printing technology on an Andriod and IOS platform to produce, evaluate and reiterate models and design creations.

Scholarships available based on financial need. If your student qualifies for the Free and Reduced Lunch Program at their school, they may be eligible to attend a summer camp free of charge due to support from our corporate sponsors.
CANCELLATIONS/REFUNDS: Cancellations made 30 days in advance of the first day of the camp session are eligible for a full refund. Cancellations made 10 days before the first day of the camp session are eligible for a 50% credit voucher. Cancellations made less than 10 days before the start of the camp session will not be refunded. Students removed from a camp for disciplinary reasons are not eligible for a refund. The Edgerton Explorit Center reserves the right to vary its programs and to reschedule or cancel an event if it is undersubscribed or for any other reason. The Edgerton Explorit Center aims to give participants at least 1 weeks’ notice if an event is rescheduled or cancelled, and give a full refund for cancelled events.
